Compostable Paper Cups
Compostable is not Biodegradable, it’s even better, Compostable Paper Cups refer to cups that break down to carbon dioxide, water, inorganic compounds, and biomass at a rate similar to paper and breaks down into small pieces in about 90 days.
PLA vs PE
PLA or Bio-Plastic, is made from organic sources like Corn Starch, and, are 100% biodegradable, cups lined with PLA are not just biodegradable, they are compostable too, and in the presence of water, PLA breaksdown even faster. Where as PE is a petroleum byproduct and is not biodegradable or compostable.
Green Earth and Clear Conscience
Bio Cups add to the trust quotient of your brand, your customer and you, both enjoy coffee guilt free. Every contribution counts, and your contribution is in form of not allowing your business add to the ever expanding land fill, while your customer could use a recyclable bin to dump the cup or even better, use a home composting bin to compost the cups with other household wastes.
Biodegradable Paper Cups
Biodegradable Paper Cups refer to cups that break down to carbon dioxide, water, inorganic compounds, and biomass at a rate slower than compostable cups. They typically take years to slowly breakdown but of course much much less than plastic coated cups. Our cups are Compostable and thus they are of course Biodegradable too.
Biodegradable Cups are no different aesthetically, from your regular plastic coated paper cups, but are entirely different from the PE coated paper cups, when it comes to pollution, PE cups are recyclable but due to lack of efforts on everyone’s part, they usually always end up in land fills, and taking hundreds of years to decompose.
Future of Paper Cups
Approximately 55 million cups are consumed per day, in UK and almost all of them end up in landfills – It’s time to be worried. Many companies, boutique coffee shops mostly, are turning out to be more responsible than their big brothers, and are demanding green biodegradable and compostable cups.
